Year End Statistics
I don't LOVE statistics, but I may be fond of them ;)
Between July 3 and Oct 30, 2022, I took 20 rides, all but two of them east of St. Albert Trail. I managed to complete* every street east of the Trail and south of Villeneuve Road, which by coincidence, was 50% of the streets in St. Albert.
The total time I spent moving (vs. stopped and taking pictures) was just over 21 hours, and I travelled 369 km. That's an average trip of 18.5 km, with 68 minutes of cycling per ride, at an average** speed of 17.5 km/h. The shortest trip was 8.8 km and the longest, 33.5 km.
There's a table below that breaks down each ride.
Thanks for reading!

* Ok, I missed those two in Grandin. That's barely a rounding error :)
** But a detailed look at each ride would show that my speed varies greatly; I pedal slowly much of the time, taking in the sights and sounds and smells. But when I'm travelling along arterial+ roads or along routes I've already completed, I generally kick it up a notch or two.
+ The City adopted a Complete Streets Guidelines in 2018, and what we used to call arterial roads are now Crosstown (if divided) or Connector (if not) streets.
