Ride #20 - It's Grand To Be Done
It was October 30 and the early afternoon was uncharacteristically hot and sunny. So I decided to load the bike up so I could go finish off the neighbourhood of Grandin. Which I did. Except...
CityStrides has some additional features besides just tracking your progress. An important one is the "Node Hunter", which displays streets (or portions of streets) you have missed, using bright red circles. When I got home from this ride and checked my map, much to my chagrin, I realized that I missed one section of the Grandin neighbourhood.
Ignore the dark circles in the upper right; they WERE red, telling me I haven't done St. Albert Trail, but I knew that.
To make matters worse, just as I was unloading the bike, the weather took a turn. Dark clouds began to roll in and the temperature dropped. Still, the area was small and I figured I could get it done. I made it, but only barely. And I was rushing, so I hardly took any pictures.
AND I still got wet loading the bike back on at the end of the ride.
This was my shortest ride of the year.
1. Glaewyn Estates, Goodridge Drive, Grandin [map]
A beam of sunlight broke through the clouds as I was cycling by this tree.
2. Gloucester Park, Grandin [map]
This park is tucked between residential housing, a small wooded area, and a car dealership.
And we'll end this year with...a sunset 😉
